
This is the picture of the Tower of David from the other side of the wall. This has been standing since 70 CE. (see previous post)

Entering the Jewish Quarter of the City, we saw a old Roman road that was build around 132 CE.

This is a close up picture of the mural depicting what the road would look like when it was in use.

This is a Greek coin depicting Athena. The coin is dated to 400 to 300 BCE. This coin is the possession of our tour guide. According to our tour guide, the found was found by a friend in a dig.

This is the Temple Mount area. There so much here. The gold dome is the Dome of the Rock (see wiki for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dome_of_the_Rock.)
In the same Temple Mount area is the western wall of the temple also known as the Wailing Wall.
I am going to write more about this later. I want to share a few more pictures before I need to leave to start day two.

This is the Church of the Our Father. This is the place where Jesus taught the disciples how to pray.

This is the cave where it is said that Jesus was with his disciples.

This picture is taken from the Mount of Olives. The view is of the Temple Mount Area.

This is the church at Gethsemane. Picture #2 is the garden of Gethsemane. The Olive Trees are dated to be about 2000 years old and most likely present at the time of Jesus.
Today, we are visiting an organization that is working to stop the demolitions of Palestinian homes and work for peace.
